I am a career geologist and have taught planetary geology in college. I was very intrigued by the bright green color. All the other meteors I have seen have been white.

Remarks
The was at least one episode of fragmentation that coincided with a flash. A piece broke off and went off below it. The flash was not at the end but during the middle. At the end it faded to red and disappeared. It changed color as we were watching.
