Remarks | I have seen lots of “shooting stars” but nothing ever like this. It was incredibly close, long-lasting, and burst into bright teal and green colors at the tip as it was burning up - or disappearing. The tail and meteor/fireball also had width and mass unlike any shooting star I’ve witnessed before. From my perspective, seated in a car, the trail was anywhere between a sixteenth to a quarter of an inch wide. |
