RemarksI was facing west when above my garage this vision/object appeared as if from behind a tower block and passed from south to north disappearing as if behind another tower block after about 2 seconds. I had a clear view and describe it as a large Easter egg on its side, like a block of white snow with orange colouring on the top and bottom. This was huge and looked about 200 yards away, which is obviously wrong because it must've been in the atmosphere and therefore potentially many miles wide. The same night I had seen 2 shooting stars (Perseid shower), which were tiny in comparison. The object (?) filled a quarter of my vision; my wife saw it also. I was focused on the middle and had the impression of something darker at the front and a jagged tail at the back. A few days later a fireball was reported locally and shown on our news but my item was much bigger and much clearer.
