I saw the great meteor storm of 1966 when I was 7 and have always been fascinated and watched them ever since. I've seen some great long earth grazer meteors but this is my first real fireball, which I have longed to see. I'm pumped! Glad to find this website.

Remarks
Initially I thought it was coming straight towards me but it was just getting bigger and brighter and moved from my left to right. Then it broke up into many fragments that almost looked to rain down (did not all continue with the initial vector of travel). I was in the car with windows up and music on so I did not hear anything. Either a plane or helicopter soon came into view from sort of the same direction the fireball came from so I was beginning to wonder if I saw a fireball or if a helicopter shot some kind of flare. When I found your website I knew it was the fireball as the time was about perfect. I posted an inquiry on Facebook a few minutes ago to see if others saw it but so far have not gotten responses from others that have.
