The blue streak was bright enough (in my peripheral vision) to catch my attention, and I feel fortunate to have looked at it directly in time to see it end in a fireball!

Initially I saw a moving blue streak but suddenly it erupted into a reddish orange fireball and then it was gone. I was in a moving car, heading west and the streak (and then fireball) came from a northwest direction.
