Remarks | I thought it was a shooting star at first, but it seemed much closer and the tip reminded me of one of those firework sparkler sticks and like it caught fire?! Sorry if that is an odd description. I was driving on I-95 North from MA towards NH. It was completely dark out. I was somewhere near Newbury, MA. Possibly Georgetown, MA, or maybe farther up towards the NH border. The time was between 7:30pm EST to 8pm EST. It looked to me like it landed in the trees off to my left. I have never seen anything like it before. It reminded me of something you might see on a science show that starts burning when it enters the atmosphere, although if it was as close as it appeared to be then it wouldn't have just caught fire like that?? |
