RemarksI saw this while I was waiting for the comet NEOWISE to appear, and the fireball happened when the sky was still pretty light. This made it particularly notable just how bright it was. I thought perhaps it was a firework but it's origin was clearly in the western sky above the ocean, and it had an overall downward angle to it, plus was moving at a speed not typical of fireworks.
