Remarks | I was driving a car, and noticed what seemed to be like a star, but moving very quickly, seemingly down towards earth. It was visible long enough for me to 'calibrate' my understanding of its trajectory. It appeared like it was going to land not far ahead of me, maybe 200 yards, which was beyond a group of trees. I lost sight of it as it went behind the trees, but it lost a small fragment just before that. My initial thought was that it was a bottle rocket that was glowing, but it would have been on a very large arc if that was the case, as well as it being a very unlikely time for something like that. |

Remarks | Just before it went behind trees, a small fragment seemed to break off and go upward while continuing to fall. The fragment was illuminated as well and then disappeared just before the whole thing was out of sight. |
