I was standing on the west sidewalk facing North on 2nd avenue. I had a lot of visibility of the sky to the east but the west was mostly blocked by buildings. The Fireball first flashed and appeared in the sky approximately directly in front of me possibly a few degrees west (11:58 o'clock). At no point was the fireball visible to the east. I did not witness the end of what would have been the "dying" of the fireball as it was still very bright as it went behind the buildings to my left (west).

The fireball flashed which is how I initially saw it then appeared to go dark and then flash again, leaving a trail of sparkling debris before I lost sight of it behind a building.
