RemarksI've never seen a shooting star this close. I thought there was an electrical arc happening somewhere nearby. It literally lit up my yard like someone was using a "brighter than normal" welder. I turned in a bit of a panic to see what could be happening, and witnessed the three bright "electric blue" orbs streaking directly over my house from the north, heading south. They were there and gone in about 4 seconds, the whole event only taking a total of around 10 seconds. I *may* have heard a report. I went in to tell my wife and then ran back outside, maybe 2 minutes having passed. The moment before I reached the door, I heard a triple thud that was similar to when large artillery rounds have hit (I know from military experience). In retrospect, I'm not sure if I actually heard it, or wanted to because I was expecting it or maybe half expecting it? Either way, I hadn't yet got back out to the porch and the door was close, so it was hard to tell. As far as degree above the horizon for when I first noticed and last noted, please take it with a grain of salt. My house is surrounded by trees and the actual horizon isn't distinguishable, so it's my best guess.
